By Alfred Brian Agaba, Managing Director/Consultant ACLAIM Africa Limited, Jackline N. Kisembo, Consultant and Capability Leader – Procurement & Logistics, ACLAIM Africa Limited and Lynn Asiimwe, Capability Leader – Human Resource, ACLAIM Africa Limited.

World Vision Uganda (WVU), a Christian relief, development, and advocacy organisation, partnered with ACLAIM Africa Limited (ACLAIM) to empower its managers and supervisors across the country with impactful Leadership & Management training.

The training was delivered in person across the Uganda Refugee Response (Arua), Eastern, Western, and Northern regions, and at the National Office.

ACLAIM’s Alfred Brian Agaba, Jackline N. Kisembo, and Lynn K. Asiimwe facilitated the trainings.

A sample of topics in the training included:

  1. Paradigm shifts (Stages of Learning, mindset changes, and shifts)
  2. Purpose (Starting with and understanding your Why, the Hedgehog Concept)
  3. Self-awareness (Understanding ourselves and individuals on our teams, Johari’s Window and other cool stuff)
  4. Personal Leadership (Wheel of Life, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People)
  5. Team leadership (Upward Feedback, Teaming, Competence vs Interest, Challenge vs Support, Competence vs Character, etc.)
  6. Effective Conversations (Constructive Feedback, Active Listening, Push vs Pull Conversations, Conflict Resolution), and yes, giving and receiving feedback without the awkward pauses.

From powerful self-reflection to practical team leadership tools, this training delivered exactly what today’s leaders need: confidence, clarity, and connection.

Here’s what a sample of the participants had to :

  1. The facilitator had vast knowledge and content. The training was very engaging and participatory. Keep it up ACLAIM.
  2. I loved the examples of the trainers boss’ character – vulnerability.
  3. Excellent, the content was high, and the facilitator was well prepared. Coverage was explicit, with great engagement.
  4. I appreciate the knowledge shared and the resources provided to get more information. I appreciate the simplified and personalized facilitation of the training content. The trainers also gave participants time when speaking, which showed that their views matter.
